Town of Ashland Notice of Willingness to Hold a Public Hearing: Bicycle/Pedestrian Shared-Use Trail

Find out about proposed plans to build 1230+/- linear ft. of boardwalk and 290+/- linear ft. of asphalt trail next to an existing paved access road used for industrial activity. This project will connect Maple Street to the existing Trolley Line Trail Park.  No right of way is required for the project.  

Review the proposed project plans and the National Environmental Policy Act document in the form of a programmatic categorical exclusion at the Town of Ashland, Department of Public Works, 201 Duncan Street, Ashland, VA  23005.  Telephone 804-752-6875. Please call ahead to ensure the availability of appropriate staff to answer your questions.  If your concerns cannot be satisfied, the Town of Ashland is willing to hold a public hearing. You may request that a public hearing be held by sending a written request to Mr. Thomas E. Dickerson, P.E., Project Manager, Town of Ashland, P.O. Box 1600, Ashland, VA  23005 on or prior to June 15, 2017. If a request for a public hearing is received, notice of date, time and place of the hearing will be posted.

In compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act, Section 106 and 36 CFR Part 800, information concerning the potential effects of the proposed project on properties listed in or eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places is provided in the environmental documentation.
