Anthony J. Callahan Sr. joined the Town of Ashland Police Department (APD) in September of 1999. While a member of APD he has been assigned to the Uniformed Patrol Division, Traffic Safety Unit, and also served as a General Investigator. In July of 2007 he was appointed as an Acting Sergeant, where his supervisory responsibilities included the Investigations unit as well as the Support Services Division. This assignment included the added responsibility of managing the Departments Records unit as well as the Property and Evidence Room. In July of 2008 he was appointed to the rank of Captain and in July 2014 he advanced to the rank of Major. He is currently responsible for Patrol Operations. Captain Callahan is a graduate of the Professional Executive Leadership School (PELS) at the University of Richmond. He has also completed course work at the New Deputy Chiefs Training School, and was a proud member of the United States Armed Forces as a Military Policeman with the U.S. Army.
