From Hanover County Public Schools:
We hope you had a great weekend. We are writing today with more information on the upcoming meetings regarding the consolidation of Henry Clay Elementary School and John M. Gandy Elementary School.
As we shared with you last month, starting this week we are hosting several interactive meetings for students, faculty, staff, and the broader community to provide input on the design of the consolidated school. Students, faculty, and staff will be able to share input during the school day on Tuesday, June 8 (faculty and staff) and Wednesday, June 9 (students).
The meetings for families and the broader community will be held virtually as follows:
- Tuesday, June 8 at 7 p.m.
- Thursday, June 10 at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.
- Tuesday, June 15 at 12 p.m. and 7 p.m.
- Thursday, June 17 at 7 p.m.
To access and participate in the community meetings, simply click on this Zoom link using a computer or mobile device.
During the meeting, attendees will have the opportunity to respond to questions and express their preferences about the design of the new school by using the menti.com website. The eight-digit code needed to access the site will be provided during the meeting.
Each session will include representatives from Crabtree, Rohrbaugh & Associates, the architectural firm we are working with on the design of the new school, and HCPS administrators. There will be discussion on the timeline for the new school, the layout of the space, and more, as well as a time for questions.
We are excited to engage with you as we work together to design a new, united, and student-centered school that will honor the rich legacy of both schools, while also charting a bright path forward to serve generations to come.
