  5. 4th Annual Kings Charter Toys For Toys Jeep Parade

    Come on over to the Detail Garage (9456 Charter Gate Drive) around 3PM to watch Jeeps assemble and decorate, before they head off to parade around the Kings Charter, Totopotomoy, Atlee Ridge, Kingswood Court neighborhoods collecting new toys for Toys For Tots Please bring a new, unopened toy to donate - Detail Garage will have boxes setup to take toy donations from Dec 3 - 10, and will offer donators a 10% discount on purchases made during that visit! Kings Charter is providing a food truck located outside of the DG store, so come get'cha some and socialize! Have a Jeep and want to join in - do it! Decorated or not, come over around 3PM and join in the fun. Please consider donating to this very worthy cause. As noted, Detail Garage will have boxes setup to collect toys from Dec 3 - 10, and Jeeps will be collecting toys all along the route. Let's make a difference to those needing a little holiday cheer!

    The Town of Ashland Parks & Recreation, in partnership with the Virginia Recreation and Parks Society, is excited to host Texas A&M University distinguished professor and Parks & Recreation expert, Dr. John Crompton, for “Learn from a Legend: The Evolution of Parks & Recreation.” At this speaking event, Dr. Crompton will focus on the vibrant and ever-changing nature of parks and recreation and explore the rich history of the field. Attendees will learn about the six distinct eras of parks and recreation and discover emerging trends that will usher in the next era. Community members and students are encouraged to attend for free on December 14th from 1pm-2:30pm at the Ashland Theater. You can sew, knit, crochet or loom anything from blankets to shawls and everything in between. Bring your sewing machine, knitting needles, etc. and supplies and we will make items for From the Heart every 4th Thursday.
